Here are five reasons Arsenal should make a move for Robert Lewandowski...

1) They can afford to and other options are stalling

Chief executive Ivan Gazidis can't stop boasting about Arsenal's finances, so now is the time to put their money where his mouth is. Robert Lewandowski
will be pricey but has just one year left on his contract, and is
expected to cost £25 million, roughly the same as they sold Robin van
persie for last summer who is five years older. He represents excellent
value, for the same price Fiorentina want for Stevan Jovetic. A deal for
Gonzalo Higuain may be delayed until Real Madrid and PSG get on the
same page re: Carlo Ancelotti, so they should move onto look at
Lewandowski.

2) Lewandowski's prolific strike rate

Olivie Giroud is a good striker, but Robert Lewandowski is a
great striker. He scored 36 goals in all competitions for Dortmund this
season, bettering the 30 he scored for the side the year before. Any
striker who can deliver 30 goals a season is worth their weight in gold,
and there are not many around, especially ones who can be bought for
under £30 million, with Monaco's £50 million signing of Falcao more
reflective of market value.

3) His proven big game record

Lewandowski proven he is capable of mixing it in the big games,
when he struck an incredible four times at home to Real Madrid in the
Champions League semi-finals. He hit a memorable hat-trick a season ago
in the Pokal final in a 5-2 win over Bayern Munich, and should show
absolutely no fear in the Premier League.

4) His arrival will attract more big names

Lewandowski would be a statement signing from Arsenal, and act as
a catalyst to attract more big names to the club. In choosing Arsenal,
he would also be rejecting Manchester United, Manchester City and
Chelsea, showing that the Gunners are no longer to be considered as also-rans. 

5) Arsenal will be title contenders

Robert Lewandowski arriving at Arsenal would allow the club to
dream a little. No longer would they be looking over their shoulders
holding off Spurs for a top four place, that could be taken as a given.
They along with Chelsea would enter the race with the Manchester clubs
for the title. Despite personnel changes, Arsenal's defence was the
second best in the league last season, and a solid defensive midfielder
would provide an excellent platform for a superstar striker to take them
to the next level. Lewandowski can be that man, and replace Van Persie
once and for all in attack.
